Dusseldorf Airport

Düsseldorf Airport is the 3rd among the largest airports of Germany and 20th among the busiest airports of Europe. It is considered to be the major airport for Rhine-Ruhr Region of Germany. Some of the most important hubs for commerce and business are covered by Dusseldorf airport which is located around 9 km from the Dusseldorf City.

Around 750 landings and take offs are made on average on daily basis. These figures clearly make Dusseldorf the North Rhine-Westphalia region’s busiest and most visited destination.

There are two runways. One runway is 3,000 meters in length while the second is 2,700 meters long. To ensure the landing and take-off for larger aircrafts, it is expected that the runway of 3,000 meters length will be further extended by additional 600 meters.

With its Inauguration in 1986, the latest addition to Dusseldorf Airport is the terminal C. Terminal C offers 8 gates for passengers. The flights of non member Star Alliance airline carriers are operated from this terminal. The international airlines like Emirates and Airberlin have their passenger lounges at this terminal. The terminal C is also considered as an executive terminal because at this terminal the provisions like relative privacy and comfort are ensured for business travelers and VIPs.
